 The 6th grade went on a field trip to Hemlock Park and participated in team building and environmental educational activities.
Advanced Academics Parent Information Meeting
A parent information meeting will be held on November 19th from 5:30-6:30pm in the Staff Lounge to provide information about levels of service, as well as explain and answer questions about the Advanced Academics Screening process for part-time school-based and full-time Level IV services.
It is Getting Colder Outside!
Dear Parents/Guardians:
Please make sure your children are dressed for the weather with coats, hats, and warm clothes on colder days. Even though they may go from the car or bus into school in the morning, they still go outside for recess for fun, exercise, and fresh air. They love their recess! Please remind them to remember their belongings. Our lost and found is located in a cabinet by door 7 and it is starting to fill up. Thank you!
Also, please do not drop your children off before 9:05am. It is too cold for them to wait outside and we do not have supervision until then. The first bell rings at 9:10am. Thank you!

Winter Club Registration
Online registration for the Winter Session for several clubs is now open. The dates vary widely, so click on the club link at https://herndonespta.com/clubs/ for more info on a specific club.
Spirit Night Next Week
Take a bite out of Spirit Night by stopping by the Chick-fil-A on Sunset Hills next Wednesday, November 13, 5-8 pm for dinner. Part of the proceeds will be donated to support PTA programs, clubs, and other services.
Fall Book Fair
One of the best parts of cold weather is curling up with a good book! Share some quality time with your children and their favorites at our Fall Book Fair!
The Arctic Adventure will open to explorers in our library from Nov 18-22, but you can shop or browse online at the Scholastic store starting Nov 15. Students and Parents can also shop the Fair together during the PTA Meeting on Tuesday, Nov 19 from 5-8pm and during Thanksgiving Lunches on Thursday, November 21. PTA Meeting
Our next general PTA meeting will be held the same evening as the PTA Book Fair Family Night on Tuesday, November 19 at 6:30 pm. Everyone is welcome but only 2019-20 members can vote.
