AAP Parent Focus Group
Dear Parents,
Last week an invitation to participate in a parent focus group was accidentally forwarded to the community. FCPS has contracted with a researchers at four universities to conduct a review of identification practices and equity in AAP for the district, but the researchers are meeting with small focus groups that have been randomly sampled in order to gather balanced information that represents the entire district. As such, the date/time that you were sent will only be open to a small group of parents who received a direct invitation from our deputy superintendent, Dr. Ivey, from the randomly sampled group.
I wanted to give you this information as soon as possible in order to avoid families rearranging schedules to attend as this will not be open to anyone outside of the those who received direct invitations. This is reiterated in several places on the RSVP form as well.
Again - if you received the KIT email, that is not a direct invitation. Direct invitations were sent directly from Dr. Ivey's executive administrative assistant, Diane Long. Please let me know if you have any questions about this clarification.
