Calendar Reminder: November 4 and 5 Are Holidays for Students

Calendar Reminder

As a reminder, schools will be closed for students on Monday, November 4, for a school planning day and Tuesday, November 5, for a teacher work day. Friday, November 1, is the last day of the first quarter. Classes will resume on Wednesday, November 6. See the complete 2019-20 school calendar

Daylight Saving Time Ends Sunday

Don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour on Sunday, November 3, at 2 a.m., for the end of Daylight Saving Time.

General Music: Recorders!

Attention 4-6 grade parents: We will begin using recorders in General Music for Grades 4-6 soon! If your child took his/her recorder home at the end of last year, please ensure that the recorder is brought back to school no later than November 11. Recorders will be available for purchase through My School Bucks on December 1 for 3rd grade and those in grades 4-6 that have misplaced their recorders. Recorders cost $6.50 each.

Attend this important workshop, presented by Julia Calhoun and Katie Boxer, FCPS Behavior Intervention Teachers to understand characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Building Success in Physical Education

Learn fun activities for the whole family to get your child moving while reinforcing a wide range of skills needed to participate in physical education.

You will learn how to:

  • Motivate your child to be physically active
  • Modify games to enhance success
  • Reinforce the adaptive skills students need to be successful in PE:
    • Taking turns and following rules
    • Participating in group games and interacting interact with peers
