Project Based Learning: Quarter 1 Recap!

Project Based Learning is a highly engaging method of inquiry and learning taking place at Fairhill Elementary.  Teachers provide the framework that inspire students to take on real-world challenges through the PBL process. Students are introduced to an engaging challenge, work together to explore and create, and share their findings in unique ways. These projects allow students to thrive as communicators and collaborators and mimic real-world challenges they will face in the future.

A few PBL’s that took place during first quarter include:

1st Grade--How can you as an illustrator, create a comic that includes a Super Hero Citizen?

4th Grade--How can you as a vlogger, create new content that will convince kids to visit a region of Virginia?

6th Grade--How can you, as an engineer and travel agent, create a resort on a planet in our solar system, and convince people why it would be the best vacation spot in the galaxy?
