Halloween Bingo Night

bingo night

Congratulations to the 6th Grade on a well attended Halloween Bingo Night fundraiser on October 25th.

6th Grade students and families participated in a fun-filled night. With Mr. Bill Hurd as our resident Bingo Caller, there were many prizes and smiling faces. Prizes included games, toys and gift cards to local establishments and raffle prizes.

Thank you to all families who participated and to those who provided much support.

Way to go 6th Grade!

While we had so many fun and creative characters for Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character Day, we had to get a picture of all the folks celebrating our World Series Champion Nationals!  #fightfinished

Music Performances

performances

Ms. Verich and Ms. Cancilla's afternoon first grade students retold the story of the Little Old Lady who is not afraid of anything through acting and instrumental music.

Ms. Klem, Ms. Pritchard, and Ms. Paz’s afternoon second grade classes retold the story of Bony Legs using acting, song, and instrumental music. They had amazing performances to a packed house. We are so proud of them!

Character Day

Character Day

On October 31st, Halloween, Fort Hunt had a “Dress like a Book Character Day.”

Students and staff could be seen dressed in outfits representing their favorite books. Students had creative costumes like Harry Potter, Dragons Like Tacos, and the Cat in the Hat.

The morning started with celebration music for the Nationals World Series win and holiday music in the hallway. It was a great day of fun and excitement for everyone!

A few Fort Hunt Staff members had a blast creating Spider Lollipops with the kiddos at Creekside Community Center!

Our yearbook theme this year will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Fort Hunt Elementary School. That’s half a century our school has been open to students! Students, use your creativity to design a yearbook cover drawing that honors this important milestone. The winner will be selected by Fort Hunt teachers and staff. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place winners will have their design on the back cover. Your drawings MUST:

1. Be on an 8 ½ x 11 sheet of paper
2. Relate to our school’s 50th anniversary
3. Fort Hunt Elementary and 2019-2020 must be in your drawing
4. Include our mascot, Artie the Fox!
5. Be drawn by you, and NO TRACING!
6. Have your first and last name & grade on the back

Color pencils work best, but please, COLOR DARK! If your drawing is too light it will not transfer well!

We are excited to see what creative ideas you come up with!

Please turn in your drawings to Mr. Green by

Wednesday, November 6th.
