Student -Parent Survey for Federal Impact AID
FCPS is asking all families to fill out a Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid. Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an anticipated $3 million dollars in grant funds each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers. For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's school. If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in Section 3. All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by October 30. All results are CONFIDENTIAL.

IT'S ALIVE! Albert Einstein's brain, that is. Sci-Fi geek and pizza delivery boy Otto must make the most important delivery of all time when the mad scientist Dr. Harvey Thomas gives Otto and his talking dog, Swamp Thing, the task of safely delivering Einstein's brain to a college in Berkeley, where it will be properly studied. Sounds easy, right? Save for a few hilarious distractions (a musical group of preserved body parts, a horde of zombies, and an evil, even madder scientist) it should be a piece of cake! Can Otto and his dog make it to their destination in relatively one piece? Pun intended.

Spartan Crew
Need your leaves raked?
Hire a Spartan rower squad to take care of it!
Sign up for a slot every Saturday and Sunday from October 26 through December 15 and a crew will come out and get the job done.
• Crews are 3-5 rakers (always with an accompanying parent) • Fee is $10/hour per raker. (Average job costs between $55 & $150) Tips are always welcome and will go directly to the rower. • You provide the bags and we bring the rakes, blowers, and brawn. • We rake, bag, or drag your leaves to a location of your choice. • There are two raking sessions per day, 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. • Sessions typically last 2-4 hours - however long it takes to pick up all your leaves.
For information or to schedule, please email leafraking@spartancrew.org with your preferred date and details on the job. Feel free to pass on the information to your neighbors.
The RVES Fun Fair and Haunted House is this Saturday and we are still in need of some teen volunteers for the event. This is our PTA's largest fundraiser and community event so we are really hoping to fill all the shifts. Thank you for your help!
