Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid

FCPS will be asking all families to fill out a Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid.  Robinson sent forms home with students on Thursday, October 24th and asking for forms to be returned to 1st period classes on Monday, October 28th.

Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an additional $3 million in grants each year from the U.S. Department of Education.  These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.

For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's school.  If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in Section 3.

SW Spotlight

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month!

What is Domestic Violence? Domestic violence is the willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault, and/or other abusive behavior as part of a systematic pattern of power and control perpetrated by one intimate partner against another.  It includes physical violence, sexual violence, threats, and emotional abuse. The frequency and severity of domestic violence can vary dramatically. On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men.  31.3% of Virginia women and 22.1% of Virginia men experience intimate partner physical violence, intimate partner rape and/or intimate partner stalking in their lifetime (ncadv.org).  Everyone has a right to live free of violence. Domestic violence feeds off of silence and fear. If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse, please call the Domestic and Sexual Violence Hotline at 703-360-7273 for resources and information about domestic violence.  Hotline Advocates are able to help. Through language line services, there is access to over 140 languages.
