Impact Aid Forms - Please Complete and Return!
Impact Aid forms went home in your student's Take-Home Tuesday envelopes yesterday October 22. These forms bring in much-needed funds to our schools and we need a completed form from every student. Please be sure to complete, sign and date your child's form and return to the school promptly. Thank you so much for your cooperation!

Fall Book Fair – Volunteers Needed
The Scholastic Book Fair will be coming to the KGES Library from Friday, November 8th through Friday, November 15! We will need many volunteers to help with class previews and sales, Book Fair Night, and pack-up. Please see the available volunteer times and sign up online to volunteer.
Book Fair Loose Change Drive for Books
As part of our Fall Scholastic Book Fair, we are holding a loose change drive from Oct. 21-Nov. 15 to purchase books for students with economic need in our school community. Students and families who would like to donate may place any amount of loose change (pennies, nickels, dimes, or quarters) or a dollar in one of the “All for Books” boxes located in the main office. Thank you!
Online Book Fair
Our Online Book Fair is open from November 3 through November 16. Books ordered online will be delivered to school the week of November 24. The Online Fair offers a greater selection of books, as well as the convenience of shopping from home. (Shop Online Book Fair)

Digital Citizenship Week Is October 21-25!
Kings Glen is celebrating Digital Citizenship Week with spirit days and activities focused on developing healthy habits around technology use. The theme is Media Balance and Well-Being: Developing a Healthy Relationship with Your Technology. (More Information)
Spirit Days for the Week:
Monday: Hat Day – Put on thinking cap
Tuesday: Dress in Your Best – Use high quality media
Wednesday: Dress as your Muse – Use creative technology
Thursday: Active Wear – Exercise healthy habits
Friday: Wear Hawaiian – “Lei” Off the Tech Day
LB Pyramid Choral Concert ~ October 30
Who: All 6th Grade Chorus members and 5th Grade AREA Chorus members (only the students who have signed up for the Lake Braddock Area Chorus)
Where: Lake Braddock Secondary School Theater (Door 14)
When: Wednesday, October 30; Students need to arrive NO LATER than 5:30; Concert begins at 7:00 pm in the LBSS Theater (Door 14)
Attire: White dress shirts (not a t-shirt), black dress pants or skirt and black shoes
A letter with more detailed information went home with 6th Grade Chorus members on Monday, October 21. Please email Kellie Dragity or Michelle Keenan if you have questions.
Yearbook Cover Submissions Due November 1!
Submissions are due to Mrs. Fitzgerald by November 1st. Extra paper and Challenge Forms can be found online or outside of the Art Room.

Sock Drive for the Month of October
Kings Glen is participating in the Lake Braddock pyramid “Socktober” drive this month, collecting new socks to be donated to area homeless shelters. Students may bring in new, unused socks and place them in the Socktober box located in front of the main office. Thank you for your support!

Attention All Orchestra Students
STRINGS EXTRAVAGANZA at Lake Braddock SS is back!!! Sign-up closes on December 14, and the concert is on January 11, 2020. Please check our website to find out more about this wonderful one-day event for all levels!

Care to Share Program - Need Volunteers!
KP/KG PTA's Care to Share program has gotten off to a great start. In the first five weeks of school, we have collected and donated roughly 30 bananas and 120 milks. Food donation pickup/drop off is happening on Fridays and we are always looking for volunteers! Estimated time needed to pick up items from both schools beginning at 2:30 p.m. and drive to Food for Others will take approximately 1.5 hrs of your time. Sign up here for a Friday!
