IB/AP Opt-Out Forms Available in the IB Office
Fairfax County Public Schools will continue to pay the exam fees for the first six exams (IB and AP) each student takes during their 4 years of high school. Students choosing to take one or more tests beyond the six FCPS-funded tests will be charged a fee of $119 per IB test and a $94 per AP test. As a result of this new fee structure is the option to “opt-out” of an exam. Students are still responsible for all requirements of the course, they will simply not take the exams in May (and thus will not have the potential for college credit, which comes from exam scores). If a student chooses to opt out of any exams, they must get their opt-out form from Mrs. Bradshaw in the IB Office (located in back of the media center/library). They may contact Mrs. Bradshaw at lmbradshaw@fcps.edu to set up a time to get the form. This form also lists the cumulative tests the student has already taken and will take this school year.
The deadline for returning the opt-out form to Student Services is Friday, October 25th. Forms only need to be returned if a student is opting out of an exam.
Please review the information found at the following link: AP/IB Test Frequently Asked Questions.

Annandale HS/PTSA wins the Lottery!
To kick off the 2019-2020 school year, our friends at Harris Teeter (HT) have donated $2,000 to support several neighborhood schools, including ANNANDALE HS!
The Virginia Lottery provides incentive payments to retailers who sell winning tickets in various lottery games and the Barcroft Plaza Harris Teeter recently sold a winning ticket, resulting in a $2,000 incentive award. Rather than keeping these profits, Harris Teeter has chosen to donate its incentive award back to local schools. Our PTSA was one of the lucky ones chosen!
To show our appreciation and to raise much-needed funds to support our teachers and student programming (including field trips), we are asking you to help us with one simple task:
Link/ReLink your Harris Teeter card TODAY by doing the following:
– link your Harris Teeter VIC card to Annandale HS PTSA using Together in Education (TIE) code 4555. You can do this at the store customer service counter or online or log-in to this secure PTSA form and provide your last name and either phone number associated with your HT card or you HT card number. The PTSA will do all the work for you. The information will not be used for any other purpose.
For more information, visit the Annandale HS PTSA fundraising webpage or email fundraise@annandalehsptsa.org.
Stay tuned for the big day when Harris Teeter delivers the check to AHS!
