New MyPDE System: Important Deadlines

As a reminder, MyPLT and eLearnIT systems will go offline on Thursday, October 17, at the end of the day. MyPLT historical employee performance evaluations, courses, and course completions will be accessible within MyPDE (My Professional Development and Evaluation) on Monday, October 28, at the start of the business day.

Employees requiring access to professional development transcripts during the transition period (Friday, October 18-Sunday, October 27) should print their transcript before October 17.

Employees using eLearnIT who have courses in progress need to complete their courses before the close of business on October 17. If the course is not completed by that time, employees will need to restart the course once MyPDE becomes available on October 28.

Highlights of the new system include online access to employee performance evaluations for operational employees, increased search functionality to easily locate learning opportunities, and a more engaging and functional user interface. Take a sneak peek at the new system.

#OurFCPS Faces: Angela Aldave

Anglea Aldave, parent liaison, Annandale Terrace ES

One of Angela Aldave’s favorite quotes is from Dr. Mariam Stoppard: “Happy, healthy parents make happy, healthy children.” As the parent liaison at Annandale Terrace ES and Frost MS, Angela seeks out the opportunity to do just that–create an environment for happy parents to cultivate happy students. She says, “My primary responsibility is ensuring parents are informed of the wealth of resources available to them within FCPS to help their kids be successful. I also maintain and run the Parent Center at Annandale Terrace ES, always ensuring it provides a welcoming and inclusive environment, and is a safe place where families can get information and be involved in their kids’ academics day to day."

Angela has put together a calendar of parent coffees that will empower parents and, in turn, help their children. She adds, "I concentrate on personal development, so I partner with Britepaths for the financial classes. [...] The other coffee, in partnership with Edufuturo, is a resume-building workshop for parents. One of our success stories was one of our ATES parents becoming an IA [instructional assistant] for FCPS due to the partnership. Really amazing!”

What does Angela like most about her job? She exclaims, “I love the fact that in a way I’m helping make the difference in our community one family at a time and this is extremely rewarding.”

Principal Lisa Pilson says, “Mrs. Aldave is an incredible member of the Annandale Terrace school community. […] She’s striving to not only empower parents with information about what to do, but also how to apply new information learned during parent coffees to action. This energy elevates a caring culture while promoting parent involvement, engagement, empowerment and home school partnerships which extends the work of equity beyond the school day.”

Frost MS Principal Anthony Harris reiterates, “Ms. Aldave is an active and positive member of our school community. […] She advocates for the needs of the parents and is currently collaboratively planning with the me the first event of a parent learning series at Frost MS this year!"

Outside of FCPS, Angela loves "creating good memories" with her two children and husband. Angela also enjoys baking, practicing her graphics design skills, and discovering holistic ways to balance and improve her family's life. Angela is improving the lives of FCPS families, too!
