field day

Field Day was amazing! The clouds cleared, and we enjoyed several hours of cooperative games at the Coast Guard Station under blue skies and sunshine.

No School On Monday

On Monday, October 14, school will be closed for students. Our teachers will be busy with planning, learning and preparing their lessons. This time is greatly appreciated and necessary for our teachers to do their best work. We look forward to seeing everyone back in school on Tuesday, October 15 at 8:30am.

TONIGHT: Chuck E Cheese Fundraiser

There will be PTO fundraiser this Friday, Oct 11 at Chuck E Cheese. Look for the flier in yesterday's Thursday folder and let cashier know you're from Mount Eagle so that we can get a portion of the proceeds. Thank you for your support!

Field Trips Next Week

  • Kindergarten to Shlagel Farms on Thursday, Oct 17
  • Grade 6 to the National Gallery on Tuesday, Oct 15

Parent Conferences Begin in Mid-October

Because it’s so important, we require all of our parent/guardians to meet with their child’s teacher at least once to review their performance in literacy, writing, math and content areas as well as their social interactions. This meeting is different than a specific meeting a teacher may ask for to address a behavior concern. It’s about how your child is learning in ALL areas and what you can do to support that learning.

Your child’s teacher will schedule them to occur between mid-October and when the first progress report goes out on November 14. We know that parents are busy, and we will work with you to find a time before or after school, or during the teacher’s planning time. The conferences last about 20 minutes.

Bring any questions you might have. Write them down so that you don’t forgetAlso think about what you would like to share about your child’s at home including interests, favorite books, hopes, and any problems your child is reporting to you at home. The more we know, the better we can all work together for your child.

Band & Strings Classes Start

Our students in Grades 4, 5 & 6 have begun their instrumental music lessons. Thank you parents for  supporting your child by making sure they practice and take care of their instrument. Lessons are every Friday, so instruments need to be in school that day.
