We need a member from every family to attend your child’s grade level Back to School Night! The teacher will provide important information you need to know for the year. In addition, you will learn an important skill that your child needs to practice at home. Your child can come with you and participate in a dance party or have fun competing in science and art activities. We will see you this week!
3rd & 4th Grades – October 9th
October is National Bullying Prevention Month
According to the Center for Disease Control, students who are bullied are more likely to experience low self-esteem and isolation, perform poorly in school, have few friends in school, have a negative view of school, experience physical symptoms (such as headaches, stomachaches, or problems sleeping), and to experience mental health issues (such as depression, suicidal thoughts, and anxiety).
How you can stomp out bullying:
- Talk to your child about it.
- Support and empower your child.
- Learn your rights. For more information on how to stop bullying click here. (Center for Disease Control, Bullying Surveillance Among Youths, 2014
PTA meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 8th, at 7 pm in the cafeteria. Come celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month during our PTA meeting! We will be spending time getting to know one another while flexing our artistic muscles, as well as learning how the PTA supports students and teachers. All are welcome! If you are interested in helping with this event, please contact Carmen Quesada at cpquesada@fcps.edu.
Let someone else do the cooking on Wednesday, October 9th! We’ve partnered with Chipotle for our first Dining Out fundraiser of the year. Place your order between 5 - 9 pm and either show a flyer or mention this fundraiser to the cashier prior to paying and a portion of your order is donated to the PTA. Thank you for your support!
