Focus of the Week: Being present and giving others my attention
This week, GBW students are focusing on the Other People Matter mindset element of Being Present. This element is so important today due to the increasing number of distractions vying for our time and attention. Just like plants need to grow, our relationships need attention. The research is clear that relationships are the cornerstone of health, happiness, and resilience.

This year FCPS has an updated library management system. You now have the ability to monitor your child’s library account. This means you (and your child) can see what they have checked out, renew items that are overdue, and place HOLDS on up to two books. Please watch a short video to learn how to access and log in to your child’s account. (You will need to know your student’s Username and Password in order to access their account.) We are very excited to invite you again this year to our Spanish Cultural Club at GBW. We will meet on the first Wednesday of each month from 4:00-5:00pm in room 416, Mrs. Davis' room, starting on Wednesday, November 6th. There is no cost to be part of this club. If students are unable to come to one, they are still welcome the other months!

Harris Teeter’s Together In Education (TIE) program gives schools a chance to earn funds when you link your VIC card and shop Harris Teeter brands. When you shop Harris Teeter brands, a percentage of your purchase is donated to the school that your VIC card is linked to.

Harris Teeter is currently running the LINK Challenge - if we can increase our links to 50 or more by October 16th, our school will automatically win $100.

Start Scanning for Our School with the BoxTops Smartphone App!
The BoxTops for Education program has begun its transition to a digital submission program. We will still accept the traditional clipped BoxTops (see Thursday Folder- BoxTop Form), but we can submit receipts through the BoxTops for Education App right now! Please take a moment to download so that you may scan your grocery receipts. The App is available on iTunes and Google Play.
