Fall Picture Day is Tomorrow, October 8th

This is a pre-pay event.  Please send your picture envelope in with your student tomorrow.

Due to the 3rd grade field trip, third grade students will take pictures on November 19th.

Afterschool Transportation Changes & Walking Permission

As a reminder, we use a green-slip system to help parents alert teachers to changes in transportation home for their student.  We realize plans can change and want to be able to accommodate this communication to get all students home safely.

Students are never permitted to walk to the shopping center or Starbucks from school. If parents want students to meet up at Starbucks afterschool, please complete a greenslip for Kiss N Ride pickup by the parent. One parent may pickup a group of friends if everyone has a greenslip.

Last minute requests to call home to go home with another student for a playdate will not permitted.  Our teachers and office staff have to work quickly to release and get all students to the correct bus or through kiss n ride. We are happy to support these arrangements ahead of time, but will not be allowing students to call home at the last minute to make alternative plans. We will always accommodate last minute emergencies.

The only students who should be walking home are students that have received prior permission from their parents and have a Walker/Biking permission form on file in the front office.  Students may not exit the back or side doors for they own safety.  Parents are welcome to reach out to Mrs. Kirkpatrick if there are questions about your child's ability to arrive where they need to be afterschool.

Thank you for helping us keep our students safe.

This showcase is thanks to Chesterbrook ES’ membership in the FCPS Digital Tech Cohort, a collective of schools partnering with the Department of Information Technology to facilitate the creation of media by students. In becoming part of the cohort, Chesterbrook received technology equipment (iPads, green screens, portable photo studios, tripods, lights, mics, and more) at a value of approximately $15,000. This equipment allowed our school to delve into media production, especially using stop motion and green screen techniques, resulting in student-created products at many grade levels. The school will continue to build on this foundation in the 2019-20 school year.
