Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

This year we will be offering a new section in our News You Choose called “Tip of the Week.”  Each week we will share a tip for parents to support their child’s learning at home.  These tips will alternate between math and reading.  We hope you find useful information to enhance and support your child’s learning in and out of school.  We value our partnership with families and strive to support all students to be successful!

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to further support your child’s learning and experience at Oak Hill.  My door is always open!

Sincerely,

Holly DeVore, Principal

Tip of the Week

tip week

This week’s tip is an article by Stanford professor, Jo Boaler.  Many of our teachers use Jo Boaler’s research and Youcubed site to support their math workshop.  This article shares about the importance of creating an environment where students can have productive struggle to enhance their learning as well as supporting a growth mindset, something we work hard to develop at school every day.  Enjoy!
