HVES FALL Field Day Oct. 25th for Grades 1-6
- 1st-3rd Grade Friday, October 25, 9:35 am - 12:00 pm (approximate times)
- 4th -6th Grade Friday, October 25, 12:40 pm - 3:00 pm (approximate times)

Mrs. Ross, Mr. Zatt, and Mr. Barbaro are looking for LOTS of parent volunteers for Field Day – especially for 4th-6th grade.
On field day Hunt Valley children engage in many fun activities to celebrate our Physical Education program. A large number of volunteers (90 – 100) and adult supervision is needed for this day to be a success.
Volunteers will be used to help run stations or supervise a class as they travel from station-to-station. You may choose to volunteer for one or both of the sessions. A detailed schedule will be made based on the number of volunteers that sign-up by Friday, October 11. Please click here to volunteer!
Information for volunteers will be distributed via email approximately one week before field day. An information table will also be set up in the foyer on field day to provide volunteer job assignments, the location of the stations, etc.

October PTA Meeting
The next PTA meeting is Wednesday, Oct. 2, 6:30pm, in the library. Please join fellow parents and caregivers for a short PTA business meeting, followed by guest speaker, Ms. Alt! Ms. Alt will be sharing information on the Hunt Valley Advanced Academic Program (AAP), and answering your questions. For more information about the PTA, please visit www.huntvalleypta.org. West Springfield Pyramid Parent Program
We want to give you a heads up about an event on November 13th at West Springfield HS. The elementary and middle school counselors in the pyramid have been working on creating a Pyramid Parent Night on the topic of Anxiety. We will be showing the movie “Angst” and having a panel of mental health experts answer some questions afterwards, as well as a resource fair for parents to get additional information or talk with area therapists. More information will be coming but please save the date.
UPDATED INFO: HVES Foreign Language Classes via GLOBAL Plus Program
Parents! Thank you so much for completing the survey and letting us know what languages you're interested in and on which days work best for you. The results are in! Spanish is the preferred language for the fall session. Spanish classes for grades 1-3 and grades 4-6 will start November 12 for an 8-week session. Cost is $173. There is a 10% sibling discount.
The flyer and registration process is being finalized. You'll receive more information in the coming weeks. Please look out for it and sign up. If we do not have enough students signed-up, the classes will be canceled. Thank you!
