Homecoming Happenings 2019

HOMECOMING IS NEXT WEEK!!  Robinson’s Homecoming Week will take place September 23rd – 27th. Please encourage your child to participate in any and all homecoming events. There will be a competition between 7th and 8th grade to find out which is the most spirited.  Students can earn points by attending Homecoming activities, dressing up for spirit days, attending the dance, and buying a Homecoming t-shirt.

Read the information below to get caught up on all things Homecoming!

Dance: This year’s homecoming theme is Candyland! Join us for sugar rush at the middle school dance on Thursday, September 26th from 3:00-4:30pm in the Blue and Gold Cafeterias.  Tickets are $10.00 and includes pizza, water, and a snack.  The dance will have a DJ, photo booth, lawn games, crafts, and video games! No special attire required. Late buses are available.

Buy tickets through  MySchoolBucks (Students must bring the receipt to the dance for entry) or bring $10 cash on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday to purchase during lunch periods on the café stage.

Spirit Days: Everyday has a candy-related theme. During lunches, student government members and middle school administrators will judge the “best dressed” and award a prize during each lunch shift to the most spirited students.

Monday – Sweet Dreams (PJ Day)

Tuesday – Candy Bowl (Jersey Day)

Wednesday – Taste the Rainbow (Tie-Dye)

Thursday – Three Musketeers (Triplet Day)

SOCIAL WORK SPOTLIGHT

by Kristen Licciardo, School Social Worker

Stress Relief Strategies When You Have 10 Minutes or Less.

According to Paula Davis-Laack, “These skills are quick…Many of the tools I’ve included are STRONG strategies. STRONG is my acronym for STress Resilience ON the Go, and these are skills that you can incorporate into your everyday life quickly.  I did this because the more I teach busy professionals about stress resilience, the more I hear that you want quick strategies. Though some of the STRONG strategies are worksheet-based, many include simple coaching questions meant to help you develop self-awareness and crystalize your thinking. You don’t have to use these skills in any particular order – simply start applying the ones that resonate with you.”
