No testing during the religious holiday.

The County testing window for the CogAT opens on September 30th.  Due to the religious holiday on that day, we will not test at Canterbury Woods until October 1st to honor our families observing this holiday.

Deaf Awarness Week

International Week of the Deaf (IWDeaf) – September 23-29, 2019.

is an initiative of the WFD and was first launched in 1958 in Rome, Italy. It is celebrated annually by the global Deaf Community on the last full week of September to commemorate the same month the first World Congress of the WFD was held.

International Day of Sign Languages (IDSL)

has been adopted by the United Nations General Assembly and will be celebrated annually on 23 September beginning in 2019. The objective of the IDSL is to raise awareness on sign languages and strengthen the status about sign languages. This event also will take place as part of the International Week of the Deaf (IWDeaf).

Our CWES theme for International Deaf Awareness  week is “We are ALL unique!” Students and staff can look forward to a variety of activities to celebrate and learn more about the amazing individuals in the DHOH community.

International Night 2019

Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 6:30-8:30pm

We are gearing up for another festive, fun-filled evening as we celebrate each other’s cultures, traditions, and customs, as CWES SCA host International Night 2019.

Families/students who want to participate may display crafts, flags, maps, photos and other informative materials that represents their country.  Participants may also come dressed in their cultural attire. Food that represents your country or culture is also welcome.

Like last year, we hope to showcase incredible traditional dance, singing, or instrumental songs. If your student or someone you know is interested in performing, please describe that in the participation form or contact Mrs. Brown directly at nlbrown@fcps.edu.

Families wishing to participate, please complete this form by September 27, 2019. Mrs. Brown will send out table locations and other information two weeks before the event.
