Dear 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade Parents:
Throughout the year in music class, we will be playing various instruments, including the recorder. It is time for students to bring their recorders back to school. Please encourage your child to wash and rinse their instrument, and make sure their name is written clearly (in permanent marker) on the side. If they have lost the fabric case, they can put the recorder in a large Ziploc bag labeled with their name and teacher.
Students need to have their recorders back at school and returned to their music classroom by Friday, October 4th. If your child has lost their recorder, they will need to purchase a new recorder. The cost is $4.00 and can be paid on myschoolbucks.com. Once the payment is made, they will be given the recorder at school. Students who are new to Fairfax County will be given a recorder.
We are looking forward to a great year of Music!

Please consider signing up for an after school enrichment class. We have a wide variety of classes this semester for all ages and abilities. The 8 week courses are a great opportunity to try out a new skill and spend time with friends doing fun activities. As of now our enrollment numbers are lower than in past semesters and we need some more sign ups in order for certain classes to be held. Class descriptions and schedules can be found at Leescornerpta.net. Please contact Claire Evangelista at lcesafterschoolenrichment@gmail.com with any questions.
LCES is forming Odyssey of the Mind teams for the 2019-2020 season. We're looking for interested students of all ages. Teams are made up of 5-7 students and require at least one coach. LCES students would fall into one of three divisions. Primary - kindergarten through second; Division I - third through fifth; and Division II sixth through eighth.
If your student is interested and/or you are interested in coaching, please contact Robin Cole at robinmcole@gmail.com. Please know that we can only organize as many teams as we have coaches, so if your child is interested, please consider volunteering to coach. No experience is necessary and there is training available to all coaches.
