Bicycle Helmets
This is a friendly reminder that all students riding bikes to Twain Middle School should wear a helmet. Fairfax County is one of many jurisdictions in Northern Virginia that requires the use of bicycle helmets. Fairfax County Code Section 82-6-38.1 defines the use of a protective helmet while operating a Bicycle: Any person under the age of fifteen years of age shall wear a protective helmet that meets the standards promulgated by the American National Standards Institute or the Snell Memorial Foundation while riding or being carried on a bicycle on any highway, sidewalk, or public bicycle path.
Membership Still Available

Single Membership is $20 and Family Membership is $30. Even if you don’t have any time to help volunteer or come to meetings, we need your support. Just by joining the PTA, you are supporting the many programs that the PTA funds, so join today!
Band Car Wash
Twain’s Band is holding their first car wash of the year on Saturday, September 21 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Please come out and support the band.
PTA Meeting
Thursday, September 26 is the first PTA Meeting of the school year. Join us at 7:00 pm in the Library to hear a special presentation about a new program at Twain – No Place for Hate®.
National PTA Reflections 2019-2020
Does your student know about the National PTA Reflections Program? They still have time. The theme for the 2019-2020 program year is Look Within. Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts. Deadline for submission is October 15th. Information on how to submit will be coming soon. Contact mtmsreflections@gmail.com for more information.
