Haycock Happenings

Principal's Message: First PTA Meeting of the Year!

Dear Haycock Community,

I hope to see many of you at Tuesday night's PTA meeting!  We begin at 7:30 PM in the library.  You may remember me thanking the PTA for their incredible support in our welcome back video shown during Back to School Night.  That was a genuine and well-deserved thank you as the PTA supports our school in a myriad of ways to include funding to purchase books for classroom libraries and our book room, technology, substitute costs for staff professional development, as well as organizing clubs and activities for students beyond the school day, coordinating many community events (first up is the Family Outdoor Movie Night on September 27th) and so and so on!  Click here to visit the PTA website for more information and join today!

Safety will always be our top priority and I am impressed with our response to both fire drills and lockdown drills.  Students and staff exceeded expectations. We have a fire drill every week for the first four weeks (then once a month after that) and our second lockdown drill will be Wednesday.  We are required to have four lockdown drills over the course of the school year.

I continue to remain focused on visibility and building relationships with students, staff and our families.  Attending the PTA meeting Tuesday is another opportunity to establish this most critical aspect of my position - relationships!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend and, as always, keep scrolling for more information below.

All my best,

Scott

A reminder that we also have two bike racks at the rear of the building that are not being utilized fully.  We seem a bit overcrowded with the racks at the front of the building.  We want to make sure all bikes are safely secured.  Thank you!
