Welcome to Bren Mar Park from the BMP PTA! We hope you are ready to have a fun and successful school year. In that effort, we thought it might be helpful for you to get a brief overview of the PTA’s current activities for the year. Our goal is to support programs critical to children’s education, including field trips, teacher grants, and school supplies.
MONTHLY:

General Membership Meetings: Join us to connect with other parents and members of the BMP community to learn what’s happening at the school, share ideas and ask questions to PTA, staff and administration! Or goal is to combine a learning opportunity around a specific topic followed by PTA business. Our meetings are typically the 2nd Thursday of each month.

Restaurant Nights – Each month, BMP partners with a local restaurant for a fundraising night. Bren Mar Park receives 15-50% of the restaurant’s profits for the evening. This is a great way to socialize with other BMP families while enjoying a meal together. This event is usually the 3rd Wednesday of every month, but is subject to change based on restaurant availability.
SEPTEMBER: Family Digital Citizenship Night and PTA Meet & Greet - Bren Mar Park hosts this informational event in coordination with Fairfax County Public Schools to provide information to support family learning and conversations around Digital Citizenship. A PTA Meet & Greet follows immediately after with food and networking.
Date is set for Friday, September 26th, 5-6:30p.m. in the BMP ES Gym.
OCTOBER: Bingoween – This school-wide Bingo game is a great time for students and a terrific fundraiser for the PTA. We sell Bingo cards, as well as food, drinks, and spirit wear at the event. Prizes for Bingo winners are generously donated by parents and the community.
Date is set for Friday, October 25th in the BMP ES Gym.
NOVEMBER: Turkey Trot – This school-wide event allows our kids to do something they NEVER get to do! Run in the hallways! Children will get sponsorships for the number of times they complete the hallway loop. Concessions are also served for this event.
Date is set for Saturday, November 16th, 10-11:30a.m. at BMP ES.
FEBRUARY: Family Dance Night – This dancing event involves the whole family and is a great time for students to show off their moves! The PTA sells food, drinks, and spirit wear. Since there are very few costs for this event, it is quite profitable for the PTA.
Date is set for Friday, February, 7th, 6-8p.m.
MARCH: March Madness Free Throw Contest– This event involves our students showing off their basketball skills.
Date is set for Friday, March 2nd, 6:30-8p.m. in the BMP ES Gym.
APRIL: International Night – What better way to showcase the diversity at BMP? Families set up tables of cultural artifacts, food, and clothes; the music and art departments provide entertainment; and the PTA raffles baskets of donated items from parents and the community.
Date is set for Friday, April 24th, 6-8p.m. in the BMP ES Gym.
