Fun Run Fundraiser

We would like to invite you to the 11th Annual Asha-Jyothi Run/Walk on Sunday Sept 15th at Fairfax Corner. This is a fun, easy way to raise money for our school while celebrating health and wellness. As part of their community outreach effort, Asha-Jyothi is offering a discounted race registration fee of only $20 (regular price $30) to anyone using our school’s unique coupon code lees-aj5k.

Here is the link to register - https://asha-jyothi.redpodium.com/2019fairfax5k

100% of the race registration fees (up to $1,000) using our school’s code will be donated back to our school by Asha-Jyothi to fund technology / educational needs or any Asha-Jyothi campaign that our school chooses to support.

Schools participating in the race also have the option to apply for Asha-Jyothi’s Educate-Innovate initiative which will sponsor the creation of one high school Innovation Lab each year along with makerspaces and technology investments within that high school pyramid.

Last week, your child brought home a schedule in their Wednesday folder and more information can be found at http://leescornerpta.net/. We hope everyone gets a chance to try out an after school enrichment class. Is your child an aspiring architect, chef or computer whiz? Is he or she interested in gaining new skills or getting energy out with friends in a fun, relaxed setting?  We have a variety of class offerings this semester, something for all ages and abilities. Classes begin the first week of October so make your plans now! Please contact Claire Evangelista at LCESafterschoolenrichment@gmail.com with any questions.

LCES is forming Odyssey of the Mind teams for the 2019-2020 season. We're looking for interested students of all ages. Teams are made up of 5-7 students and require at least one coach. LCES students would fall into one of three divisions. Primary - kindergarten through second; Division I - third through fifth; and Division II sixth through eighth.

If your student is interested and/or you are interested in coaching, please contact Robin Cole at robinmcole@gmail.com. Please know that we can only organize as many teams as we have coaches, so if your child is interested, please consider volunteering to coach. No experience is necessary and there is training available to all coaches.
