During History, sixth graders are practicing analyzing artifacts, pictures, documents, and maps. Students are looking at what they see in a picture and trying to identify the artifacts and how they were used, as well as figure out what was happening during that historical time period.
Hello Franklin Sherman community! My name is Brianna Shawhan, and I’m the new 3rd grade teacher at Franklin Sherman E.S. I’m originally from central Illinois, but I just moved here from Boston, where I got my MA in Elementary Education at Northeastern University. Before moving there, I taught the English language in Prague and Bulgaria for three years. In my free time, my husband and I love to travel and hike, especially in the mountains. I’m also working on learning Romanian, so I can converse with my husband’s family better. I’m very excited to be part of the FSES family!

Your Generous Donations are Needed!
Fairfax County provides a small amount of support per student for Franklin Sherman Elementary School’s needs during the school year. Their contribution of $115 per student is not enough to cover all FSES expenses for supplies for classrooms, Art, Music, and PE, just for starters.
Help us DOUBLE the amount the county contributes by MATCHING the county’s per student contribution of $115! Our goal is to raise $15,000 in 15 days.
ALL funds will directly benefit your child’s classroom and school!
