Message from the Principal

Daugherty

Dear Beech Tree Families,

It’s been a beautiful first week of school! First of all, I am so glad the weather has cooperated so that our students could enjoy the great outdoors together for recess. They need it!

Class routines and procedures have been established and practiced. Students are engaged, using Math manipulatives, building their language skills, and creating Interactive Notebooks. Our newest members of the family have learned Kindergarten expectations and are learning to communicate wants and needs, while developing a sense of independence. Please ask students about their Morning Meetings. Ask students to share an example of how they were kind to someone and how someone was kind to them. Ask students to share how they used problem solving. Ask them about a book they read, whether it was a read aloud, buddy reading or independent reading. Ask them about a favorite character and what they like about the character.

Your children are such a joy to know and teach! Thank you for your trust. We hope this four day weekend is a celebration of all their hard work this first week of school and we look forward to our second week of school, beginning, Tuesday, September 3rd.
