School Closed August 30-September 2 for Labor Day Break
New Virginia legislation requires that schools opening prior to Labor Day must be closed the Friday immediately preceding Labor Day. As a result, Friday, August 30, is a holiday for students, in addition to the Labor Day holiday.
School will resume on Tuesday, 9/3.

Please join us next Thursday evening to learn about your child's learning experiences for the year. The event will take place in your child's classroom. There will be two sessions, each with the same presentation, so you may attend either.

Safeway Foundation’s 3rd Annual School Spirit campaign continues until August 31. The South Lakes Safeway store will be collecting donations supporting Sunrise Valley Elementary.
On behalf of the entire staff of Sunrise Valley, thank you to the PTA for coordinating the delicious welcome breakfast served on Friday, August 23 and to all those who made contributions- it was a great start to our school year!
