Willow Welcome
Thank you to all of our volunteers who made this year’s Willow Welcome a huge success! From stuffing Thursday folders, to face painting, to passing out pizza and snacks during the carnival, the PTA could not have done it without the help of our Willow Springs families, teen volunteers, and Church of the Apostles community members.
Volunteers stuffed over 1,000 Thursday Folders for all Willow Springs students.
Volunteers delivered Thursday Folders and student agendas to each classroom.
Volunteers displayed their artistic talents when face painting during the Willow Welcome.

Volunteers organized games and gave out prizes for the Willow Welcome carnival.
Picture Day!
Say cheese for Picture Day on THURSDAY, AUGUST 29. This is the photo that will be in the yearbook next spring, so your smile will last a lifetime!

Membership Matters
Top 3 reasons for joining the PTA:
- It’s good for your child: Research shows that children with parents involved in their school earn better grades and have fewer disciplinary problems at school.
- It’s important to the school: Schools are becoming more and more dependent on parents. Parents provide support to teachers and administrators and they create a caring and supportive atmosphere in the school.
- You’ll get connected: There is no better way to know what’s going on in the school then to be active in the PTA. Be the first to hear important discussions and get to know the teachers and administration on a more familiar basis. No Hassle Fundraiser
Did you know that our PTA is one of the most active in Fairfax County? Not only do we host many schoolwide events such as the Willow Welcome Carnival and the World Festival, we also sponsor every club, provide funding for class level activities, and fund Faculty Appreciation Week. We could sell wrapping paper or cookie dough, but who has time for that? Our No Hassle Fundraiser is a quick, easy way to support our school without having to harass your friends and neighbors. Your donation is 100% tax-deductible. To donate, click here: https://squareup.com/store/willow-springs-pta/

Three For Me is county wide initiative to help families plan meaningful ways to be involved in their child's learning experience. Research shows that students do better in school when their parents and family members engage in the school community. We are asking that parents commit to volunteering 3 hours of their time throughout the year to the school. This can take place in the classroom, the cafeteria, the library, at a holiday/end of year party, or through a PTA sponsored activity. Please contact PTA Vice Presidents of Volunteers, La Tosha Plavnik and Susan Steinberg at vpvolunteers@willowspringspta.net to learn more.
