First Week Success!

This has been a fantastic first week of school! Students have transitioned from summer time to school time, met many new teachers, and are establishing their routines. We wish you a great holiday weekend, and we hope your children are looking forward to coming back next week to see all of their new friends and teachers!

Sincerely,

Ms. Peace and Ms. Salata

Kiss ‘N’ Ride

For the safety of all of the students, staff, and patrols in our Kiss ‘n’ Ride line during arrival and dismissal, please make sure that you remain inside your car during arrival and drop off. We realize this is new for our Kindergarten families, therefore we have Kindergarten staff located at Kiss ‘n’ Ride to help your child get out of and into your vehicle.

Fire and Lock Down Drills

For the information of all Clermont Families, we are required to have a fire drill every week for the first four weeks of school; after that, they are held monthly. The first fire drill was Thursday, August 29.

We are required to hold four (4) Lockdown Drills per year. The first two must be within 20 days of the start of school. During a lock down drill (less than 10 minutes), the whole staff is engaged. The doors are locked and the phones are not answered.

Don’t be alarmed if your child comes home sharing that we had a Lockdown within the next few weeks, as it is most likely a drill. Future drills will not be announced. Should Clermont ES have an actual emergency situation arise, you will be notified by either the school or FCPS directly.

Gentle Reminder

To keep our school as safe as possible, please remember to bring your valid driver’s license or State Issued ID when coming to Clermont ES. Every visitor will sign in using our Visitor Management System to obtain a sticker/badge. Thank you for your cooperation and honoring this safety request.

Are you new to Clermont Elementary School?

Welcome to Clermont Elementary! The FCPS school counseling program provides comprehensive services to all students, supporting student success by providing academic, college and career, and personal and social counseling. School counselors help build a foundation for learning while supporting students' achievement.

We begin the year by offering short term new student orientation groups to welcome new students, and to facilitate adjustment to Clermont ES. Groups meet one time per week for two to three sessions and are open to 1st through 6th grade students. Meetings last for approximately 30 minutes and are held during the school day.

If you would like for your child to participate, please contact us before the beginning of the second week of school. We look forward to getting to know your child and your family!
