Welcome Back!
Thank you to all of the parents and family members who attended our Middle School Back-to-School-Night on August 28th! We hope you enjoyed the experience of walking a mile in your child's shoes - and at Robinson, our kids really do walk miles every day!
Our 7th and 8th grade students had a fun and exciting first week of school! We enjoyed our first Pep Rally and welcomed the Class of 2025, traveled to all of our classes, successfully executed our first safety drill, met teachers and made new friends. The holiday weekend is well timed!

Learn the tools of theater performance, such as movement, vocal expression and collaboration, by taking a series of workshops in the fall. Participants who attend a full series are eligible to audition for the exclusive Voices of Now Robinson School Ensemble, which meets from February through May at Robinson. Ensemble members work with professional actors and directors to study acting and to write an original play performed at Arena Stage.
VON Workshop Dates, Details, and Registration Form
Attend the interest meeting on Monday, 9/16 in Davala Hall from 3:00 to 4:25pm to learn about this program, the musical production, and theater sports!

NEW! SOCIAL WORK SPOTLIGHT
by Kristen Licciardo, MSW, School Social Worker
Who is your school social worker? This is my ninth year working as a school social worker. This is my fifth year at Robinson! I have been working as a social worker with children and families for 24 years. I attended California State University, Northridge and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development. I completed my Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Southern California. I spent the early part of my career working with children and families in mental health settings, including residential treatment centers, day treatment programs, non-public schools, and outpatient therapy programs. In California, I also worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker doing private practice. I relocated to Northern Virginia in 2009 and have enjoyed living on the east coast with my husband and two children, one in elementary school and one starting middle school this year!
What does your school social worker do? I provide support to children and families in the areas of mental health, accessing community resources, basic needs, and special education. I partner with our school teams and counselors to ensure all students are achieving their full academic, social and emotional potential.
What is Social Work Spotlight? I will be highlighting anything and all social work related information…an inspirational story I have come across, a book I am reading, resources in the community, special events, etc… sometimes, just a great quote for the week!
