Welcome Back, Lions
 Thank you to our PTA for a delicious lunch welcoming our staff back last week. We enjoyed seeing so many of you on our Family and Community Day! Thanks for coming out to meet your teachers last week and we're looking forward to a great year.
Arrival and Dismissal
The first day of school has come and it was wonderful to see everyone's smiling face this morning! Students quickly found their classrooms and settled in, learning routines for a safe day filled with learning.
Arrival
The first bell rings at 8:05 and our day is off to a great start with the bell ringing again at 8:20 to signal the official start to the day. During this time, students are expected to go directly to their classrooms to get their day started by following their classroom's morning routine, which includes watching our student-produced WLTS news show and eating breakfast in their classroom.
Parents, please wave to them as you drop them off at the building's doors and know that we have staff stationed throughout the building to welcome them. For our Kiss & Ride parents, please remember to enter the parking lot by turning right off of Billingsgate Lane. After 8:15 a.m., parents may use the front loop to drop off students.
Dismissal
Dismissal begins at 3:05 and our students are dismissed in stages to support a calm and orderly exit from the building.
Walkers: Kindergarten Walkers are dismissed from the Library doorway and all other walkers are dismissed from Door 3.
Kiss and Ride: To help the Kiss and Ride line keep moving, please hang your number on the rearview mirror so that it's clearly visible for our staff so that we can reconnect you with your child. If you send a family member or friend, please provide them with the number card so that we know it's authorized by you.
Please communicate any changes in your dismissal routine as early as possible to your child's teacher and to the main office so that we can help your child.
Playground after Dismissal
During the school day and even beyond, the playground is reserved for students and staff at London Towne. Additionally, after school, our playground is reserved for SACC which runs until 6:00 p.m. As such, please be aware we will need to lock the gates from 3:30-6:00 p.m. each night after dismissal to allow SACC access to our playgrounds. Thank you for your support in keeping our SACC students safe.
Every Day Counts! Absences Add Up.
Parents/Guardians, as we begin another school year, here are some important school attendance reminders:
- Learn the ways to alert your child’s school when your child will be absent.
- We do monitor your child’s attendance daily, and will reach out to you if your child does not arrive at school or class as expected.
- Please continue to contact the school via the attendance line or email if your child will be absent. The school attendance contact information can be found on our school’s web page.
- The calendar for the 2019-20 school year has been posted. Make plans to have your child back at school, ready to learn, starting on August 26!
