7th Grade Orientation (Students Only)
(also open to 8th Graders who are new to RCMS)
VERY IMPORTANT: Students must bring a copy of their schedule with them to orientation and first day of school. Orientation for 7th graders and those 8th graders who are new to RCMS this year will be held on Friday, August 23, from 9-11AM. Students will take part in a whole group welcome and will do a “walkthrough” of their schedule and meet their teachers. This event is only for our students. Transportation will be provided from your neighborhood elementary school. More information is located here.
Buses
All families should have received bus information through email messages, text messages and phone calls directly from the FCPS Transportation office. Parents and students can also use MapNet via Blackboard FCPS 24-7 to locate bus stop information and approximate times for pickup and drop off. Students will see the link for transportation when they log in to their Blackboard FCPS 24-7 Learning accounts. Students may only ride their assigned bus.
Bus Delay Notification System
Parents may access the following link https://busdelay.fcps.edu/ or the FCPS Mobile App to receive the delayed bus report. Morning route information will be available through 12 p.m. The afternoon route information will be updated from 1 p.m. through 5 p.m. It is normal to expect a high volume of delays the first week of school. This system will be active on August 28th. Both KIT and Bus Delay Notification systems will run simultaneously until further notice.
