A Message from Dr. Smith

We have had a great week getting ready to welcome all of the students for the first day of school this coming Monday.  This week comprised Bruin Blast, a Military Meetup, beginning of the year gatherings for Orchestra and Band and planning for teachers.  You can feel the energy from students and staff, and we are all excited for the start of the school year. 

Please see the important information below regarding building access each morning and and other items for the beginning of the school year. 

 


Information for ALL

Doors Open at 7:15 a.m. for Students
Doors will be open at 7:15 a.m. for students.  Most doors in the front of the building and select doors in the back of the building will be open at that time.   

 

Bruin Blast 2019
It was great to have excitement and energy fill our Lake Braddock hallways, cafeteria and gym with students and parents yesterday at Bruin Blast. Thank you to our hardworking faculty, staff and volunteers for making this year's Bruin Blast a success!

If students were unable to make it Bruin Blast yesterday, they will receive their purple schedule during 1st period on the first day of school on Monday, 8/26.

 

Student Holiday
This is a reminder that there is no school on Friday, August 30 and Monday, September 2. The School's Main Office will be closed on both days as well.

High School Information

1st Day of School Pep Rally
We're kicking off the new school year with a pep rally for high school students on the first day of school during first period. Students will report to their first period class first and be escorted to the gym by their teachers.

 

FCPSOn
Students who still need to pick up their FCPSOn laptop will have the opportunity to do so next week during their lunch period.  Students should visit the faculty dining room in the cafeteria.  

 

Senior Parent/Student Night

On September 4, 2019 at 6:30pm there will be an important event for Senior parents and students to obtain post-graduation information.  If seniors are unable to attend, they will need to meet with their counselors to obtain their folder with pertinent information.


Middle School Information

MS After-School Program

  • When will clubs/activities begin?
    The Bruins Stay After, MS After-School Program will begin on Thursday, September 26th.
  • When will a list of clubs/activities be available?
    The club schedule will be released during mid-September. Please refer to the Lake Braddock Website under Student Life & Activities Middle School After School Program for the complete schedule, as well as some Frequently Asked Questions.
  • When do late buses start?
    Late buses will start on the first day of after school, Thursday, September 26th.
  • When are late buses offered?
    Late buses are offered on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Parent pick-up is required on Wednesday and Friday and after 4:50pm on late bus days.
  • How does my child know what late bus to take?
    Lake Braddock has 14 late buses. The late bus schedule will be posted in the Main Lobby across from the Library. Students should to know their main street and cross street. Staff will be readily available to assist with questions.
  • When do late buses depart?
    Late buses dismiss at 4:50pm. Late bus routes are condensed, so some routes may take longer to get your child home.
