Dear Families,

We are eager to begin a fabulous new school year, and are proud to introduce you to some wonderful new members of our classroom teaching teams! If your child is at all apprehensive about having a teacher this year who is new to CWES, I assure you those nerves will disappear come Friday morning when your child gets to meet one of these superstar teachers! P.S. A correction from the Back to School/Open House NYC: the kindergarten supervision area is room 133 (located next to the gym door). In one section of the NYC the wrong room number was referenced.

I'm Jennifer Quadri and I'm excited to be teaching second grade at CWES this year! Before moving to Virginia, I taught in Arizona, Germany and South Carolina. My family and I love living in NOVA, and exploring all that DC has to offer.  I enjoying traveling with my family, reading and running.

Hi, I’m Colleen Gartin. I recently earned my MA  in Elementary Education from Christopher Newport University.  I will be teaching 3rd grade AAP this upcoming school year. I am very excited to be part of the Canterbury Woods community!

My name is Sarah Simmons and I am excited to start my 5th year of teaching on the third grade team at CWES! I am originally from New Jersey but I moved to Virginia 9 years ago to attend JMU. When I’m not at school you can find me reading a book at the beach!

Hello Cougar families!  I am Tom Svercl--a numbers-crunching, athletics-loving, positivity-pumping 4th grade teacher of 17 years. I am also a son with three siblings, husband of 14 years, and father of three elementary kids.

Carolina Cappetta--5th Grade

My name is Carolina Cappetta, and I am so excited to begin teaching fifth grade at Canterbury Woods! For the past two years, I have been teaching middle school math (grades 5-8) and English (grades 6-7) at a small private school in Monongahela, Pennsylvania, which is about an hour south of Pittsburgh. When I'm not thinking about school and lesson plans, I like to read, sing, go the movies, and spend time with my family and friends.

Hi! I'm Molly Haas and I am honored to join the CWES community. I have previously taught fifth grade and kindergarten in FCPS. I can’t wait to meet you and your wonderful children! 

Jessica Leiter--6th Grade

My name is Jessica Leiter and I am thrilled to be teaching at Canterbury Woods this year, especially since I can combine my art and teaching degrees with Canterbury Woods’ CETA program. I have been teaching AAP for four of my nine years, and look forward to an exciting, creative tenth!

Kati Miller--6th Grade

My name is Kati Miller and this is my fifth year teaching in FCPS. I am happy to be a new Cougar on the sixth grade team!  In my free time, I love to see my niece and nephew and play ice hockey.
