Dear Clermont Families,
The Clermont Elementary School staff welcomes each of you to the 2019-20 school year! We are pleased to welcome new and returning families to our community. If this is your first time to our school, you are encouraged to let us know how we can help you become an integral part of our school community. We are committed to continuing the tradition of excellence enjoyed by the Clermont Community which is directly linked to our vital and treasured home-school partnership.

Important Dates to Remember:

Open House

We strongly encourage you to bring your child’s school supplies to Open House. If you did not already order online through PTA, school supply lists can be found on our school’s website: https://clermontes.fcps.edu/
Open House is a time for parents to visit the school with their child, meet their child’s teacher and drop off school supplies. Open House is optional. For many students, meeting their teachers and finding their classroom makes for a better night’s sleep in preparation for the first day of school. We encourage you to also visit the specialist teachers (i.e.: Art, Music, PE, Spanish, Reading, ESOL, Library, Special Education, Counselors, STEAM, AART, etc.).
At Open House, you will receive an information envelope. The envelope includes important Clermont ES information regarding school procedures. Please be sure to read this critical information and return forms such as the emergency care card on the first day of school. If you are not attending Open House, it will be sent home with your child on the first day of school.

Wednesday, September 11 6:30 pm – Back to School Night
Back to School Night is an adults-only evening. During this time, you will have the opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, hear about grade level curriculum, homework expectations, classroom management, how to communicate with your child’s teacher throughout the school year, and more. More information about this evening is forthcoming. We schedule two sessions with the same information to accommodate families with more than one child. 6:30 pm -7:05 pm and 7:10-7:40 pm.
Monday, August 26 First Day of School
Helpful Information
Visitors – After a recent dicussion with our Office of Safety and Security, please be advised that all visitors to Clermont ES will be kindly asked to state their purpose after ringing the entrance bell. As before, all visitors will need to go directly to the office, sign in and obtain a visitor badge after entering the building. We thank you greatly for your cooperation in helping to keep our students and staff safe.
Bell Schedule –All elementary schools have a 6 hour and 45-minute day. The initial bell at Clermont ES rings at 8:50 am, and students are permitted into the building at that time. There is no adult supervision for children prior to 8:50 am. The tardy bell rings at 9:05 am. It is our expectation that all children are in their classrooms, ready to learn by 9:05 am. Our instructional day begins at 9:05 am with our morning announcements. If students arrive to school after 9:05 am., please escort your child to the main office to sign them into school. School dismisses at 3:50 pm, and buses leave the campus at 4:00 pm.
Parent Handbook – A Welcome Letter and Student- Parent Handbook was mailed home to you from Clermont ES this week. Please check your mail next week for this important information.
Communication – As the new principal of Clermont ES, I wanted to share that most communications from me will be sent via email through the EagleGram or other News You Choose emails. I am available directly as well at rsalata@fcps.edu.
