Dear Marshall Road Families,
We are excited to have our teachers return next week and begin the process of preparing for your children. The building that was so quiet over the summer comes alive with the anticipation of a new school year.
Below are the upcoming events that you don’t want to miss.
- Open House – August 23, 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
- First Day of Day of School – August 26, 9:05 a.m. – 4:05 p.m.
- PTA Meeting - August 28, 7:00 pm (school-aged children are welcome to come and attend a free STEAM activity taught by Mr. Wyman)
- Student Holidays – August 30 and September 2
- Back to School Night – September 5 in the evening
Stay informed all year by going to your SIS (Student Information System) Parent Account. Teacher assignments for the school year will be available for you to view starting August 22 on the Parent View home page. If you need assistance activating your SIS account, please call the MRES main office at 703-937-1500.
If you are a new FCPS parent, please look for a letter from FCPS to arrive at your home around August 14 - 16 which will provide you with a SIS activation code. Click on the link below and follow the directions to set up your account. Returning parents can use their previous login. If you are a returning parent and have never set up your SIS account, please call the office and you will be given an activation code.

Bus transportation information will be available by clicking on the 24-7 Learning (Blackboard) link on the FCPS home page. The FCPS Transportation Department will have this information uploaded on August 19.
Please consider downloading the FCPS website app on your smart phone. The app will provide you with up to date information throughout the school year. Another way to access your child’s information is by installing the SIS Parent View Mobile App. https://www.fcps.edu/node/31843
