Canterbury Woods Weekly Happenings

From the Principal's Desk

Headshot

Dearest Families,

I am brimming with excitement to begin the 2019-2020 school year, my second year as your lucky principal. I can't wait until the halls of CWES are once again filled with the joyful energy of your wonderful children! I hope you have had a fun summer and that you are ready to once again be our partners in education that serves the unique needs of our students.

Over the summer, some of our beloved front office staff have set out for new adventures. Linda Szabo has recently taken a promotion as an Administrative Assistant for Madison High School, and Janette Hershey has decided to take some time off to spend with her family. We wish them well and are so grateful to their contributions to our school community. We are actively hiring for their positions and hope to introduce you to new friendly faces soon!

My door is always open, so please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns as we near the start of the school year. Enjoy your last days of summer, and I will see you soon!

Best,

Diane Leipzig
"Dr. L"

Supply Lists

Didn't go back to school supply shopping yet? There is still time! See the supply lists posted on our website: https://canterburywoodses.fcps.edu/academics/supply-lists

Please bring your supplies to the Back to School/Open House event on Friday, August 23.

Back to School/Open House Event, Friday, August 23

All CWES families are welcomed to our combined event!

Parents will receive an overview from the classroom teacher,

Students will connect with peers and visit classrooms,

Families will learn about the CWES PTA and community.

Classroom teacher Back to School (BTS) presentations are provided at the times below, staggered by grade level to provide families with multiple children the opportunity to attend multiple presentations. You need not arrive at 9:00 AM if your child’s grade level is presenting in Rotations 2 or 3, but please plan to drop off students in designated supervision areas prior to attending the presentation, as these presentations are for parents. Be sure visit the cafeteria to meet administration and learn about the PTA’s new website and ways to get involved at CWES. Then pick up your kids and bring them to their classrooms for open house at 11:00!
