LBSS Staff at the Region 4 Kick Off

A Message from Dr. Smith

Our staff enjoyed a great week of professional learning through the FCPS Leadership Conference and Region 4 Kick Off.  We had an opportunity to network and are excited to partner with our feeder elementary schools: Burke School, Cherry Run Elementary, Kings Glen Elementary, Kings Park Elementary, Ravensworth Elementary, Sangster Elementary, and White Oak Elementary.

Be on the lookout for meet and greet opportunities with our administrative staff.  We have some new faces and are hopeful that these events will give us time to continue building a strong relationship with our Lake Braddock Community.

Don't forget that our fall sports begin on Monday, August 5th.

Information for ALL

Changes to Early Check-Out Procedures for Students
Starting the beginning of this school year, there will be changes to the Early Check-Out Procedures for Students, particularly for Middle School. We will be sending out full details of the procedures in the mail next week, but want you to make note of the major changes to the procedure:

MS parents (or the designated person*) must come in Entrance 1, present a photo ID and pick up students at the security desk. There are designated 15 minute parking spots in front of the Entrance 1 that you may use to park in order to go in and pick up your child.

High School (HS) parents may pick up students outside Entrance 1.

*Please note the designated person who picks up your student must also be officially listed as an emergency contact.

Building Access in the Morning during School Days
Doors will be unlocked for students at 7:15 a.m.

Senior Portraits
Did you miss your original senior portrait session in June? Make-up sessions have been scheduled for August 12-14. Those seniors who didn't have their portrait taken yet will be receiving a postcard in the mail with their appointment information. Don't be left out in the yearbook. We love seeing all your beautiful smiles!

FCPSOn Information
FCPSOn is here! Starting in August, each high school student will be issued a laptop to use throughout the school year. For more information on the program, please view the FCPSOn Information page.

Lake Braddock will begin distribution with Subschool 3 students on August 8th. Please see below for the full schedule along with alternate dates. Students must be present and have their student ID number ready to pickup and logon to the laptop. Parents do not need to be present. We anticipate assignment of the laptop and the initial logon to take approximately 30-45 minutes. We understand schedules may impact pickup, however due to the number of students picking up devices, we ask that student try to attend their initial checkout date as there will be limited staff during the makeup days.  Thank you.
