Erin Lenart and Jovanna!
Dear Family Fairfax,
We are back and gearing up for the start of the school year! Starting today, I will be resuming my weekly message to our community. Based on the community’s feedback last year, we revised (and re-revised) our format to be what it currently is: A weekly message from the principal; Rebels Need to Know (pertinent and timely information); and Rebels Nice to Know (community information and celebrations). Please remember that I count on you, our parents and community members, to provide information to be included in our weekly communication.
I returned from a visit to Korea last week, and I am still suffering from jet lag. The 13 hour time difference is a bear to adjust to and adjust from, but I am hoping to be back to normal soon. Though seeing that beautiful country (and my mother’s homeland) is always memorable, seeing our student, Jovanna, was one of the best parts! She was actually called on stage to assist in a performance, but when I pulled out my camera to snap a shot, I was promptly shut down by security. I was able to get the picture above after the show though, and she was even a good sport and wore the chef’s hat she had to wear on stage.
In the coming weeks, I have many changes to supervision, sub schools, attendance procedures, parking, and the like to report to our community. Our tech team has been busy getting our 2400 laptops ready for our students, and the gym floor is coming along beautifully. Details coming soon.
Happy Summer—don’t worry, it isn’t over yet!
All the best,
Erin B. Lenart, Ed.D.
