LAST DAY OF SCHOOL DISMISSAL is at 1:05 PM on THURSDAY, JUNE 13th!!

Fairfax County Public Schools has announced that the last day of school on Thursday, June 13th will be a 3 Hour Early Release.  This means that the Laurel Hill students will be dismissed at 1:05 p.m. 

Yearbooks Still Available Tomorrow

There are still yearbooks available for purchase.  We will be able to accept $20 CASH only for any student who wants to purchase a yearbook.  Yearbook signing events with the specialists are scheduled for tomorrow morning with the following schedule.

5th grade: 9:55-10:20 (lunch starting at 10:50)

4th grade: 10:20-10:45 (lunch starting at 11:20)

3rd grade: 10:45-11:10 (lunch starting at 11:35)

2nd grade & Multi-Age: 11:10-11:35 (lunch starting at 11:50)

1st grade & Kindergarten: 11:35-12:00 (lunch starting at 12:05)

2019-2020 Kindergarten Registration Now

Will your child turn five years old on or before September 30? If so, please contact Mrs. Sarah Orlick to make an appointment for kindergarten enrollment. If possible, please bring your child with you to the appointment!   We want to know all about our new students as soon as possible. 

Bell Schedule for Next Year

Our bell schedule will remain the same for the 2019-2020 school year.  Students are permitted to enter the building at 9:00 AM and are marked tardy at 9:20 A.M.  Dismissal is at 4:05 P.M.  It is very helpful to have your students arrive right after 9:00 to get settled and start their day without being hurried or hassled with a late arrival.

Score Reports coming home in Progress Report Envelopes

Your child will bring home their progress report on the last day of school.  Inside this envelope, please look for letters that explain your child’s SOL scores in grades 3-6, universal screener scores for some of our students, and WIDA scores of any of our students that receive English as a Second Language services. If your child is absent on Thursday, June 13th, you may stop by the front office and pick up their progress reports after school is out for the summer.

2019-20 School Year to Start on August 26

With the school year winding down and many families making plans for summer camps, vacations, and other activities, be sure to note that the first day of school for the 2019-20 school year will be Monday, August 26. Other notable dates include Thanksgiving break, November 27-29; Winter break, December 23, 2019-January 3, 2020; Spring Break, April 6-10, 2020; and the last day of school, June 12, 2020. New PTA Executive Board Members Selected for 2019-2020 school year

Congratulations to our new PTA board members that were installed on Monday evening, June 10th.  PTA President - Cris Flores,  PTA Programs - Lindsay Aaronson, PTA Fundraising - Tricia Mascioli-Santisteran, PTA Treasurer - Seffy Bayou, PTA Secretary - Chandra Morrison.  Congratulations and a huge thank you for their commitment to our school and families.  Please know that all parents are welcome to help with the PTA in any capacity that your schedules will allow!

Bidding a Fond Farewell to Staff Members moving to new experiences

At this time of year, we bid a fond farewell to some of our staff members that are moving on to new exciting opportunities and challenges.  Their service at our school is greatly appreciated and they will be missed!
