The school year is over - it is a wrap! We hope you have seen tremendous growth in your child(ren) this year. Even though it was the last week, we were very busy with end-of-year activities.
Although the week began with rain, it did not dampen the spirits of our Watch DOGS or students as we had a great time at the annual Watch DOGS BBQ. The DOGS did a great job grilling hot dogs, hamburgers, and veggie burgers and the kids were able to enjoy visiting with our DOGS as they went through the food line or while eating in the cafeteria. Our own kindergarten teacher/DJ Brooke Ream entertained the kids with music and many children showed us their dance moves. Click on the picture below to see some of the fun we had.
 As the year wound down, we had a few more staff members share their plans for next year. Fifth grade teacher Sam Englert is moving back to Pennsylvania, special education teacher Karlee Sposa has accepted another position in the county teaching preschool, and special education instructional assistant Marigrace Rosenberry is moving to Florida. If you happen to see these ladies, be sure to wish them well and thank them for their dedication to Union Mill.
Last evening I attended the FCPS Honors ceremony where several of our staff members were recognized for their dedication to your children. Congratulations to our Outstanding Teacher Erin Price, Outstanding Operational Employee Kathy Frongello, and Outstanding New Teacher Ashley Abrams. Ashley was also named the Centreville Pyramid and Region 4 Outstanding New Teacher. We are so proud of all our nominees. Please click on the photo below to see more.
 We celebrated our 6th grade students yesterday at an awards and promotion ceremony. Before the ceremony, our 6th graders walked the halls to be celebrated by our students. Click on the picture to see photos from the walk.

Summer Office Hours
The school office will be open from 9-2 Mondays through Thursdays during the summer. Please call ahead to ensure we are not out of the office for a meeting.
Lost and Found
Our Lost and Found is bursting at the seams. Please stop by to see if you can claim any of your family's items. All remaining items will be donated to charity the morning of June 19.
