We're Here for You All Summer
Retirement Planning doesn't end when the school year comes to a close! We're open and ready to assist you, Monday--Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Our call center representatives are available to answer your questions and direct you to ERFC's online resources or you can email erfcoffice@fcps.edu and we'll promptly respond. If you're within five years of retirement eligibility, request an audited estimate through your ERFCDirect account and once you receive it, make an appointment to meet with one of our counselors. You can even wear your flip-flops!

Look for Your Retirement Account Statement in August
We'll send you an email when your Annual Member Statement has been posted to your ERFCDirect account. We prepare this statement each year so you can review your ERFC retirement account information and get a view of your retirement benefit picture.
If you haven't already, make sure you sign-up for online access to your retirement account information and your member statement. Go to ERFCDirect and click "First-time user? Register now" to complete your registration.
While you're logged in, be sure to check your beneficiary information. Is it current? Click "Named Beneficiaries" on the left side of your home page to review and update.
 Summer Ambassador Training on Tap
Our ambassador program has grown to more than 150 volunteers! Retirement benefits are an important part of our compensation, and it’s critical we understand the importance of a secure retirement for our future. Our ambassadors help spread the word by assisting co-workers with finding and understanding ERFC retirement information and resources. Our goal is to have at least one volunteer in every FCPS work location, and a two-hour training is all it takes to get started. If you're interested in joining us for a summer training session, email Lisa Scott at lbscott1@fcps.edu.
Retirement Sessions Resume in Fall
Our popular Retirement Information Sessions will resume in October. The six information sessions are open to all members and held at Gatehouse. Our comprehensive Annual Seminar will be held again in January at Thomas Jefferson High School. Look for the ERFC poster to arrive at your work location in September, containing all the information you’ll need to register for any of our upcoming sessions.
Quarterly Reminder to VRS Hybrid Plan Members
Hired on or after January 1, 2014? Don’t miss the opportunity to boost your voluntary contributions—the deadline is June 17, 2019. In addition to your mandatory contribution, you can contribute up to an additional 4 percent and receive 2.5 percent in employer matching contributions. Your voluntary contributions add up over time!
