From the Principal's Desk
June is a wonderful time to celebrate our music program – we have so enjoyed concerts from the chorus, strings, and band programs as well as student-directed performances such as “Patrol Idol” and “Sixth Grade’s Got Talent” this week. As communicated via email yesterday, students in the upper grades will be asked to make band, strings, and chorus decisions during the first week of school next fall. We also wanted to let you know that our wonderful general music teacher, Ms. Harbison, will be moving on to a new professional adventure as Choral Director at Lanier Middle School next year. She will be sorely missed by our whole school community.

Hey, it’s that time of year! Please don’t forget to pick up your student’s medications by June 13th 12:00 pm. All medications left in the Health Room will be destroyed. So, please make sure to GET YOUR CHILD’S MEDS!

Yearbooks
If you did not order a copy of the yearbook, copies are still available in the office. Yearbooks cost $21.00.
Important Update to the Tdap Immunization Requirement
Effective July 1, the Tdap booster will no longer be required for students entering sixth grade. Instead, the Tdap booster will be required for students entering seventh grade. Students, including current sixth graders, who have received a Tdap at age seven or older will meet the school immunization requirement for Tdap and will not need another dose prior to entering seventh grade.
Fairfax County Public Schools tracks compliance with this state requirement and seventh grade students who do not meet the requirement before August 26 will not be able to start school.
