Ms. Chelsey Beiswenger and Ms. Marissa Petrarca

 

Dear Villa Parents and Community,

As we move toward the end of the school year, we want to continue to announce transitions for some of our staff members.

Marissa Petrarca, one of our 6th grade teachers, will be leaving us after just two years here at the Villa. Although she has loved being a part of the 6th grade team, she has accepted a position in Charleston, SC, where she will be teaching 6th grade science at a middle school.

Chelsey Beiswenger is leaving the 5th grade team after just three years. She and her husband (and her soon to be born daughter) are moving back home to Pennsylvania where they will be closer to family. Ms. Beiswenger will definitely miss her Villa team and students!

Laurie Peake has been at the Villa for 12 years and has made such a positive difference in the lives of many of our students and their families. For most of her time here, she was a 4th grade teacher. Ms. Peake will be teaching at Waples Mill ES next year to be closer to home.

We are sad to see each one of these staff members leave but know that they will always be a part of “Our little school with a big heart!”

The main office will be open during the summer from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, Monday - Friday.

Forgot to purchase a 2018-2019 Fairfax Villa ES Yearbook?  Stop by the main office.  Yearbooks are $14.00 each.

 

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION FOR 2019-2020

Do you have a rising kindergartener or know someone in the community who will have a child in kindergarten next year? Registration is now open for the 2019-2020 school year. Please contact our registrar, Jose Flores, at 703.267.2801 or JLFlores@fcps.edu, to make an appointment and start the registration process.

Fairfax Villa Parents - Relax in August knowing you ordered school supplies in May!  Order by June 1, like Sprout on Facebook and be entered in a drawing to win your supply kit for free!  Go to www.sproutsupplies.com/supplykits and enter school code FVES001.

Ordering Instructions:   

  1. Log onto www.sproutsupplies.com/supplykits and enter FVES001
  2. Select the appropriate grade pack. Be sure to choose next year’s grade level.
  3. Pay with a debit or credit card. You will receive an email confirmation once you purchase your child’s kit.
  4. Order dates: May 1st –July 8th
  5. Every kit includes all the exact teacher requested supplies, viewable online.
  6. Your kit will be delivered directly to Fairfax Villa Elementary School in August!

SUPPORTING THE PTA

There are three ways you can support the PTA. 

1. Join the PTA!  When you join the PTA, you become an advocate for your child and every other Villa student.  We normally meet the third Wednesday of the month and many times will have guest speakers or other programs as well.  PTA Membership forms will be in your student’s Tuesday folder.   You can also join online at http://villapta.ptboard.com.  The school code is DRAPTE. 

2. Donate!  Any amount given is helpful and it all goes into benefits and services that benefit the Villa staff and students. 

3. Volunteer!  Volunteering is NOT required but it is always greatly appreciated.  If you have any questions, please contact us at villapta@gmail.com
