Our Seniors At Daniels Run Elementary School

Dear Family Fairfax,

Today, I got to walk many of our seniors through the hallways of Daniels Run, Providence, and Lanier.  It was a special event, and seeing the smiling faces of our younger Fairfax family and those instrumental teachers and staff members along the way will certainly be a cherished memory for the Class of 2019.  I am told the obstacle course at the All Night Grad Party is a “tradition” for the principal to do…if it is, my old knees might get in the way--oh, to be young and invincible again!

Final exams (and half days) will start on June 7th.  Students will be given a grab and go lunch each day with a dismissal of 11:55PM.  It is very hard to believe that the 2018-2019 school year is coming to a close.

I will have my last parent coffee for the year on Friday.  I am hoping to gather feedback on better ways to promote parent/community involvement next year, parent-program wishes/wants,  and parent-perceptions of the discipline process for students at Fairfax High School.   I would love to see you there!

Wishing you all the best on this glorious Friday,

Erin B. Lenart

Michelle Lee Designed Our New Mural!

New Mural at Fairfax HS

The art department had been wanting to do a few murals around the Fairfax HS for the last few years, and brought the idea to life this year!

Principal, Erin Lenart was completely supportive of the idea of putting a big beautiful mural in the senior courtyard.

The three Visual Arts teachers asked for submissions from students for mural ideas, and they decided on student, Michelle Lee’s design. They were excited about the lion and how its dynamism represents Fairfax through and through.

Painters were all current art students this year.

There was a celebration on Thursday, May 23rd to recognize all of the people who have helped make this happen!

NATS National Vocal Competition

Charles Wolfer is a semi-finalist for NATS National Vocal Competition.  Charles was the winner in his division at the state and regional levels.  From the regional winners, fourteen young men from across the nation were selected from his division to move forward to the national semi-finals following an intermediate youtube round of competition.  During a live audition in Minneapolis in late June, three individuals will be selected to compete the following night in a live performance for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.  Congratulations to Charles!
