Dear CES,

We only have 9 days left in the 2018-2019 school year! Fortunately, the weather cooperated and we were able to get in the upper grade's Field Day this week. As always, the students had a wonderful time. Thank you to all of the volunteers that came to assist us. The CES orchestra performed for the students and community this week. They did an amazing job! We have one of the largest elementary strings program thanks to our wonderful strings teachers (Ms. Henry & Ms. Kelley). The public librarian met with all students to highlight the programs offered at the library this summer.

On Monday, I will spend the day on the roof of the school. This was the reward that the students chose for getting pledges from all 50 states during Boosterthon.

We are in the process of installing exterior video cameras. This is a brilliant upgrade to our school security and we are very excited to receive them. The contractors that are installing the cameras has been working day and night to complete the process. We hope it will be completed by the last day of school.

2019-2020 Class Placement Survey

We greatly value parent feedback and we recognize that class placements are an essential component of a successful learning environment.

In June of this year we will be working on our class placements for the 2019-2020 school year and will be collecting parent input electronically using this form. Please know that selecting class placements at CES is a complex process which requires the collaboration of administrators, teachers, and input from our parents. For this reason, please know that all information submitted on this form will be shared with the administrators, classroom teachers, and specialists.

Click HERE for the Class Placement Survey.

All feedback must be submitted by June 1.

Thank you for taking the time to fill out this form, and we will reference this information to help us make an informed class placement decision.

End of Year Medication Pick Up

The school health room reminds parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school.  Medication left in the health room after that time will be discarded.  It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian.  Medication cannot be sent home with your student.

If your child will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, your existing long-term medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program.  Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s).

If you have any questions, please contact the health room at 703.502.3510, or your school public health nurse, Cindy McKee, RN, at 202.578.3745.
