For 8th Grade Families Only - Academic Career Plan

ACADEMIC AND CAREER PLAN – 8TH GRADE PARENTS ONLY

Dear 8th grade parents and guardians,

This News You Choose message is a follow up to a letter we recently mailed home to families of 8th grade students. Since the letter references links we wanted to provide a way for you to click on the links directly from this email. FCPS recommends using Chrome as the preferred browser to access the links.

Your student has been working all year on his or her Academic and Career Plan (ACP) in Family Connection. Your child’s plan includes:

  • results of the strengths and career surveys
  • goals
  • Resume Builder
  • draft course plans for high school

You and your student can view the ACP in Family Connection by either logging into your Blackboard Parent View account or by having your student log into his or her Blackboard account and then clicking on Family Connection. Once in the Family Connection account, click on the “about me” tab, scroll down, and click “portfolio”.

Once you have reviewed your child’s plan, use this link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdpO0hnNyVVJw9gs1_s-6tOoc6zkVaDCUPu3e6ORbxBY8UJZw/viewform?usp=sf_link or this Google form to complete the verification form. The completion of this form will serve as your signature. This must be completed by Wednesday, July 10, 2019.

For more information about your child’s ACP, visit https://www.fcps.edu/academics/graduation-requirements-and-course-planning/ or the ACP website.

A letter referring to this information was mailed to all SCMS 8th grade Parents/Guardians this past week.

Thank you for your assistance with this very important endeavor.
