Date Reminders: School will be closed on Monday, May 27 for the Memorial Day Holiday – enjoy the three day weekend! The last day of school is Thursday, June 13 and it will be a three-hour early release day; students will be released at 1:05pm.
Summer Office Hours: Our office hours this summer will be 9:00am to 1:00pm.
Medication Pickup: All medication stored in the health room must be picked up by a parent/guardian no later than 1:05pm on June 13. Medication left in the health room after that time will be discarded. It is FCPS policy that medications must be picked up by an adult, preferably the parent or the guardian; it cannot be sent home with your student.
Library Books: The last day for students to check out new items was today. ALL student library books are due back on Friday, May 31.
One-hour Zoom Focus Group: The Communications Team at the National Science Teachers Association is looking for interested parents of school-age children to join us for a one-hour Zoom focus group to preview and discuss a new project designed to provide information to parents about science standards, teaching and learning. Tentative dates for the focus group are June 4, 5, or 6 starting at 6:30 EASTERN. We want to get the parents’ viewpoint on this presentation, so if you can spare an hour, there will be a Starbucks gift card in your future. If interested, please email Jodi at jpeterson@nsta.org.

School Supplies for 2019-2020: Looking for an easy way to purchase school supplies for next school year? SEES PTA is pleased to offer School Supply Kits as a convenient way to purchase exactly what your child needs for the classroom! Crayola ColorCycle: We are collecting all types of used markers (Crayola and other brands) to send to Crayola for repurposing. Boxes can be found in the main office as well as in K-2 classrooms for collection. Markers will be collected up until the end of the school year. Field Day Volunteers: We are looking for volunteers for the SEES Field Days on June 6 and 7. To help, click here.
Cookie Day: Our last Cookie Day of the year will be on Wednesday, June 5. Volunteers are needed to collect orders and count money on Tuesday, June 4, and on Wednesday, June 5, to make, bag and deliver cookies. Please sign up here to help with cookies in any way you can. Order forms will go home in next week’s Friday folders.
National School of Excellence: PTA surveys went home last week in Friday folders. We would like to compare our results from earlier in the year and submit them in hopes of being recognized as a National School of Excellence by National PTA. If you have not had a chance to fill one out yet, we will continue to accept the surveys through next week. Thank you!
