Did you know…. What would you do if you found a pill in your home, car, child’s backpack? Did you know Drugs.com has a pill identifier. https://www.drugs.com/imprints.php. Identify the pill before the conversation.

Students without hang tags will not be able to park at Langley, May 29-31, Wednesday through Friday during the school day.  Seniors will be back and have priority for students parking.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Did you know that our very own Fairfax County Youth Survey shows how every adult can make a difference and foster resilience and protective factors in our youth?  As we recognize the need for positive mental health, please know that FCPS has compiled many resources in an effort to support our children.

Summer Reading Fun

Summer should be a time to rest and recharge for the next school year. This LibGuide doesn't contain assignments or required reading but rather a group of places to find books, reading lists, challenges and recommendations. Pick up a challenge and see how many books you can read that fit it. Look through lists and find something new you never thought about reading. Visit libraries, museums and bookstores for events. Check out our staff picks, read one and talk with a staff person when you return!  Reading can be a great way to relax and enjoy the summer. Whether you are sitting by the pool or traveling or using a print book, ebook or audiobook, a book can always accompany you. Have a wonderful summer!

Parking hang tag applications for the 19-20 school year will be available in the main office on Monday, May 20 and will be accepted thru Monday, June 7, 3:30 PM.  All applications must include a copy of the student’s driver’s license.

All completed/signed applications will be limited to rising seniors, applications for rising juniors will not be accepted at this time.  In the fall, if spaces are available for limited junior parking, information for a lottery will be made available with applications accepted at that time.

Payment for the parking hang tag ($200) will be accepted beginning mid-July through www.myschoolbucks.com .  Checks will no longer be accepted.  All unpaid parking tickets and school obligations must be paid prior to applying/receiving a hang tag.  Payment for outstanding obligations can also be made at www.myschoolbucks.com in the School Store.

LOST AND FOUND

Missing a jacket or sweatshirt? It may be in Langley’s very large lost & found collection. Please stop by the lost and found box located in the cafeteria no later than June 6th. Items in lost and found will be donated after June 6th.

MySchoolBucks

Please remember to add money to your child’s school nutrition account.  All accounts must be brought current before the end of the school year in June. Visit MySchoolBucks.

Learn more about this online payment portal for many school fees.  Parents can set up an account which they link their student(s) to so there is one account per family.  Course fees, lunch funds, obligations, some ticket events can be taken care of online. MySchoolBucks eliminates the need for students to carry cash to school and for multiple checks to be written.

Medications

All medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than 11 am on June 13. Medication left in the health room after that time will be discarded. It is school policy that prescription medication must be picked up by the parent or guardian; it cannot be sent home with your student. However, with parent or guardian permission, a student may transport over-the-counter medication to and from the school health room. If you have any questions, please contact your school health room aide, Mariama Kalokoh, at mkalokoh@fcps.edu.

Need a graduation gift? Teacher gift? A thank you to a great coach or mentor? Give a gift that lasts -- a leaf on the Legacy Tree!  You choose the perfect engraving! The Legacy Tree will soon be up in Langley's front entrance (across from the office) for all to enjoy for years to come. Donating a leaf (copper $50, silver $100, gold $200) or bird or acorn ($500), is a great way to pay tribute to your favorite people.   But hurry!  Wheat's Landscaping landscape architects are working on the courtyard renovation plans now. The more metallic leaves on the Legacy Tree, the more actual leaves there will be in the courtyards. Click to edit this placeholder text.
