We are a small, family run zoo in Delaware and Louisiana that love to educate about all the different animals we have in the world. Our mobile educators travel around the United States offering 100% free, animal education programs to schools preK - 8th. We have been to over 500 schools and educated over 450,000 students!
If you click here you can visit the website that has all the information about the program.
The program is 100% free, at the end of our presentation we offer the opportunity for students to take a picture with one of our animal ambassadors. The pictures are completely optional but if the students would like a picture, they are $10 a picture which helps us to continue offering a free program. We are going to be bringing our baby Kangaroo!

Salad Day - Volunteers Needed!
Salad Day is coming up on June 6th! Terra Centre students will be harvesting the greens and produce they planted in April and enjoying some tasty salads. Volunteers make this day happen and we need many hands to help with washing, spinning, chopping, and serving the greens. Please take a look at the sign-up and consider participating in this event. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0D44AEAD23A4F58-salad1
Teachers have signed up to come out for 15-minute rotations. We have divided the day into three volunteer shifts to limit some of the turn-over and create a smoother day for our students. The shifts match up with teachers as follows:
8:30-11: Fairchild, Robinson, Bouton, Clarke, Monahan, Lias, Terrill, Grabowski, Olweiler
11-1:30: Hardy, Naughton, Buckelew, Lewis, Quinteros, Lewis (K), Hubbard, McManus, Patterson, Nevin, Seidel
1:30-3:15: Howell, Yi, Beil, Lehman, Saltz
End of Year Medication Pick-Up
The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school. Medication left in the health room after that time will be discarded. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. If you have any questions, please contact Tracy Barry, School Health Aide, at 703-249-1400 or Romina Black, Public Health Nurse, at roblack@fcps.edu.
Are You Planning to Move?
If you are moving before the 2019-2020 school year, please notify our registrar, Dee Cunningham so she can provide you with withdrawal information. You can reach Mrs. Cunningham at dmcunningham@fcps.edu or 703-249-1400.
Optional 2019-2020 Class Placement Input Form
Student success is our top priority! As we prepare for the 2019-2020 school year, we have an optional form available for parents. The purpose of the form is to provide additional information about their child that the current teacher may not be aware of, such as their child’s strengths and needs as a learner as well as information about the learning environment best suited for their child. Please do not request a specific teacher, as those requests cannot be honored. This form can be accessed with the link above and will be available on our website from May 10, 2019 – June 14, 2019. If you would like to provide input, please submit this information no later than June 14, 2019.
Do You Have a Rising Kindergartner?
Be sure to sign up for a summer assessment!
Kindergarten Assessments ~ July 29-August 9
Kindergarten students will be assessed this summer prior to the start of the school year. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each child one on one before the school year begins. With a half hour block of time, we will do a few activities that all students will do throughout the school year. We encourage all families to sign up for a time!
We have various dates available from July 29 – August 9. The assessment should take approximately 30 minutes to complete. Please use the link or QR Code below to schedule an appointment for an individual assessment. Please include your child’s first name, last name, and date of birth in the comments.
