A Note From Principal Eck

Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.” Pele

Dear Justice Families,

Happy Sunday! Monday will be the last day of the first round of SOLs. This will allow us to focus on students who were absent or are eligible for a retake. If you have any questions, please call your student’s counselor. They can assist you with scores and other information.

Last week you should have received an email from fcpssurvey@fcps.edu with a link to the FCPS Calendar Survey. We encourage you to check your email for the survey and complete it at as soon as possible. The deadline to complete the survey is Thursday, May 23.

Have a great rest of your weekend!

Wolf Time Lesson

We return to our regular bell schedule this week and will kick off the week on Monday with an end of year reflection during Wolf Time. Students will review their grades, attendance, and progress made towards their academic SMART goal that they developed at the beginning of the year during Wolf Time. This goal is a piece of the Academic Career Plan in Naviance Student, which students access via their FCPS 24-7 learning site. Parents can view their student’s account through FCPS 24-7 Learning: Parent View.

Graduation Parade

We will be participating in a Graduation Parade at two of our pyramid elementary schools. Seniors who choose to be a part of the parade will walk through the elementary school halls in their cap and gowns on Monday, June 3rd from 11:30-12:30. Transportation will be provided. Students must see Ms. O’Callaghan in I-147 for a permission slip and register for the event through the form on the Class of 2019 Google Classroom page by Friday, May 24th. In order to participate, students must have all dues and fines cleared prior to June 3.

All-Night Graduation Party (ANGP) Volunteers Needed

Justice Volunteers

Each year, the PTSA fundraises all year to pay for an All-Night Graduation Party (ANGP) for seniors on the night of their graduation. This annual event is part of a statewide effort to provide an all-night alcohol- and drug-free party on one of the highest risk evenings of the year. A large amount of planning and expense is required to provide the venue, food, security and entertainment for this event.  We also count on the help of DOZENS of parent volunteers to provide the security and supervision required by the county. For families of seniors, graduation weekend is often complicated by events, celebrations, last-minute errands and houseguests.  For this reason, we appeal to the families of underclassmen to help staff the party.  The good news is that graduation is on a Friday this year! Some shifts are early, some are late; there’s something for everyone.  Please sign up to help keep our seniors safe on graduation night:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c4eaaaf2ba6f58-volunteers.

Summer School Registration Night

We will be holding a summer school registration night on Thursday, May 23rd from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm in the Justice HS library. Please visit the Summer Learning Programs page for more information including registration deadlines. Register early to ensure space is still available.
